Kyrgyzstan Wants U.S. out of Manas in 2014

BISHKEK, (RIA Novosti)

The Kyrgyz president reiterated on Monday that the United States must withdraw all its troops from the Manas airbase in Kyrgyzstan when the current lease agreement expires in the summer of 2014.

The U.S. began operations at the Manas base near the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek in 2001 in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks to support military operations against the Taliban in Afghanistan. LA gas prices surge above $5 on Iran oil cuts to Europe

•  Los Angeles becomes the first US city to hit gas prices of an all-time record high of over $5.00 a gallon following the Iran cutting oil supplies to Europe.

CBS news in Los Angeles alerts us to record gas prices reaching all-time highs, with the price of regular gas hitting $4.93 a gallon and premium surging to a record $5.12. As I have previously reported, analysts are forecasting the same prices to spread across the nation by summer due to the tensions with Iran.

Cairo – Syrian government forces tightened their grip on restive central and northern areas Sunday, as the crackdown on pro-democracy activists killed at least 20 people, according to activists.

In the northern province of Idlib, nine people were killed as army forces encircled all villages near the Turkish border.

The exercise in the south of Iran involves various missile systems, radars and aircraft.
